About the
Director


The JCC Academic Center offers private tutor
quality and results at a fraction of the cost. Our SAT, ACT, SAT II, Regents prep
and Writing Skills programs are designed to help high school students reach their
greatest academic potential. Our classes are small, allowing for
individualized attention and are led by dynamic, experienced instructors.

SAT/PSAT PREP
Be prepared for the
SAT and PSAT! Our highly experienced, expert faculty will guide students
through the new test, giving them the tools and strategies they need to
excel. Course consists of 20 hours of study.

more. Parents are invited to attend the first session with their student.

ACT
PREP
The ACT is a
curriculum-based achievement test that is accepted by nearly every college
as an alternative to the SAT. Just a few years ago only 15% of New York
students took the ACT; now about 40% take it. This prep class will provide
strategies for the English, math, reading, science and essay subtests, using
actual ACT exams.

This course provides a review of material tested on the SAT Subject Test in
Biology E/M as administered by the College Board. Review topics include
biological communities, populations, energy flow, biochemistry, cellular
structure and cellular processes.

WRITING SKILLS
This class is intended to prepare 8th and 9th
graders for writing in High School. This course will help students move
through the steps of the writing process from first idea to finished draft.

About the Director, Lisa Itzkowitz
Lisa received her undergraduate degree from The Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, and earned an MBA from the Stern School of
Business at New York University, while employed full-time at American
Express. Lisa held a variety of marketing positions at American Express, and
was more recently the Director of Marketing at a Westchester-based marketing
research firm. |
