The JCC Academic Center offers programs designed to help high school students reach their greatest
academic potential. We offer PSAT/SAT Prep, ACT Prep, Regents Prep, Writing Skills
and Speed Reading classes. Our classes are small, allowing for individualized attention and are led by
dynamic, experienced instructors.
SAT/PSAT PREP
Be prepared for the
SAT and PSAT! Our highly experienced, expert faculty will guide students
through the new test, giving them the tools and strategies they need to
excel. Course consists of 20 hours of study.

ACT
PREP
The ACT is a
curriculum-based achievement test that is accepted by nearly every college
as an alternative to the SAT. This prep class will provide strategies for
the English, math, reading, science and essay subtests, using actual ACT
exams.

Get ready for the
New York State Regents exams. Our expert faculty will prepare students using
drills, analysis and review of relevant material. Classes for June 2009

WRITING
SKILLS WORKSHOP

intended to help writers move through the steps of the writing process from
first idea to finished draft. The emphasis is on expressing ideas clearly,
coherently and concisely.

Get ready for the New York State Regents exams. Our expert faculty will
prepare students using drills, analysis and review of relevant material.
They will also focus on specific test-taking skills to maximize student
efficiency, including how much information is needed for short answer
questions, "guessing strategies" for multiple- choice questions, and traps
to avoid.
Course consists of six, 90-minute sessions, for a total of 9 hours of
study.

About the Director, Lisa Itzkowitz
Lisa received her undergraduate degree from The Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, and earned an MBA from the Stern School of
Business at New York University, while employed full-time at American
Express. Lisa held a variety of marketing positions at American Express, and
was more recently the Director of Marketing at a Westchester-based marketing
research firm. |
