Message from the
President, Marjorie Miller
Welcome
back to an exciting 2009-2010 season! We are fresh off of an
amazing summer experience the 2009 JCC Maccabi Games which
we hosted right here in Westchester. For those of you who
participated, you know just how magical they were, not only
for the athletes, but also for everyone who joined in the
volunteers, the host families and the 12,000 spectators who
came to Madison Square Garden to watch the Opening
Ceremonies. The Games were also a tremendous opportunity for
our JCC to partner with many Westchester synagogues, day
schools, Jewish organizations, community leaders and others,
bringing together the Westchester Jewish community in a most
unique and entertaining way.
The excitement at the JCC is continuing! How about getting
some exercise - one of my favorite things to do! We have
options for every age group at every level. If you are a
swimmer, I highly recommend our new Masters Swim program.
Give it a try and see the impact that a supervised group
workout makes to your fitness level. And for something
totally different, try the JCC Triathlon Club. The people
who joined this Spring had an amazing experience learning to
swim, bike and run, all in one race. Maybe you have a
budding Broadway star or rock musician? Then I highly
recommend auditioning for Once Upon a Mattress, or
sampling our new Rock School program where you can channel
your inner rock star! Of course, we still have all of the
programs that we are known for our premier Dance School,
our award-winning special education program -Toward
Tomorrow, our nursery school, and our summer camps, among
others. Is there a program you would like to see at the J?
Do you want to share your thoughts about a program you have
taken? As the new President of the JCC, I am very interested
in your feedback. Drop me an e-mail at
marjoriemiller@jccmw.org.
See you around the
JCC!
